Jolene became president of the Alliance française de Grand Rapids in 2020. She is dedicated to promoting the French language and francophone cultures in both her volunteer work with the Alliance française and her full-time job as a professor of French at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. She was awarded the Palmes Académiques with the rank of Chevalier (Knight), by then French Consul General Guillaume LaCroix in 2021.
